I cannot remember what everyone is fighting about.
My theology may be conservative but my “camp” is not. My “camp” holds friends
that believe all kinds of different from me… some more conservative and some more liberal… but my camp is anyone who loves the name of Jesus. My camp (my friends) – do not divide over issues because in real life we deeply LOVE each other and I love considering that I may not be right, that I may need my mind expanded and they may be the ones to do that. We all only know what we know.
I need people who think differently than me- who make me want to think, want to grow.
So calm down- do not react in fear. We don’t have to protect God and we don’t have to defend ourselves.
We can protect and love each other.
We’re going to get to heaven and realize not one of us was “Right”. We all had limited views of God and His ways and even His word.
And people who love each other talk, disagree, we give grace and we fight for each other. We defend each other even if we can’t defend the cause for which some fight… we love them.
What are my views on women in the church….
What are my views on politics….
What are my views on speaking in tongues….
What are my views on spankings or chili recipes…..
We’ll talk about it… but the only thing that I will fight to the point of bleeding for is the
glory of God and the souls and welfare of His people.
Recently I sat at a real life dinner table- not a virtual one- with friends who represented every end of every spectrum. But at that table with the deepest and best of conversations, we were women who loved Jesus, drinking wine and eating beautiful food and chasing God like He still contained mystery. We didn’t agree on everything but we could have disagreed for decades because it was so beautiful to disagree with people you love so much.
1. We are in ONE camp.
2. The world is watching us.
3. We love the people in our camp no matter their offenses or opinions.
There are big fights to fight and we need each other- all ends of all spectrums to see
God’s kingdom come and God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.
