The Price of Cool

So yesterday this one:

says, “It used to be hard work to be cool.”

to which I say, “What?!  Now you don’t even have to work at it?”

To which he says, “Pretty much.”

Then today this one:

says, “I think I have gotten popular and I didn’t even do anything.”

I say, “What makes  you think that?”

She says, “Because everyone was giving me high-fives in the carpool line.”

Geez!

SO needless to say we are undergoing some major priority shifting over here!

I love my dear friend who is ahead of me in this parenting thing,

“I’m not raising cool kids- I’m raising men and women of character.

And usually what makes kids cool is not character.”

I’m ok you two if you are very uncool.

Amen! And I’m still hoping that I’m cool! ugh! God make me a woman of character – may the world see that as attractive/cool for your sake!
Thanks Jennie!

DOUBLE AMEN….gals! “Cool” is a scary place to reside….strong character…integrity and uwavering and steadfast belief and trust in GOD….way better option….I pray for those things for my children, yet it is hard on a daily basis…not to lean toward desiring that “coolness”!!!!
